FAQs

What hospital or surgery center owns your anesthesia group?
We are a private anesthesia group that operates independently from surgeons’ offices and surgical facilities. We contract with these facilities to provide anesthesia services, but we are not owned or managed by them. Our primary responsibility is to deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care to every patient we serve.

How much will my anesthesia cost?
If you request a quote for your anticipated out-of-pocket responsibility, we will do our best to provide an accurate estimate. Because a portion of our fee depends on the amount of time the CRNA (Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist) is providing care, we use the average length of time for your procedure to determine a general range.

Please note that the actual time required may vary based on several factors, so all quotes are provided as good-faith estimates and may differ after the procedure. You are always welcome to contact our office at 319-759-5419 with any questions about your bill once you receive it.

Why did I receive a separate bill for anesthesia?
Each procedure typically involves three separate claims: the surgeon’s claim, the facility claim, and the anesthesia claim. As a result, it is normal to receive separate bills for each of these services.

What if I am a self-pay patient?
We ask that self-pay patients bring their anesthesia payment to the facility on the day of their procedure, unless other arrangements have been made in advance. If you have questions about payment options, please contact our office prior to your procedure.

What personal medical history should I share before my procedure?
Each surgical facility has its own pre-operative checklist that will be reviewed with you before your procedure. If there are any concerns identified during this process, the facility will contact our team directly before your procedure is scheduled.
